Learn Japanese Grammar ~ mono no (~ ものの)
Japanese Grammar ~ mono no (~ ものの) has meaning "but ; although ; even though".
Formation [接続]
Verb-casual + ものの
Noun + であるものの
いadj + ものの
なadj + なものの
例文
秋であるものの、まだ暑い。
Aki de aru mono no, mada atsui.
Although it's fall, it is still hot.
買ったものの、使い方が分からない。
Katta mono no, tsukaikata ga wakaranai.
Although I bought it, I don't know how to use it..
申し込みはしたものの、試験を受けるかどうか未定です。
Moushikomi wa shita mono no, shiken o ukeru ka dou ka mitei desu.
Although I applied to take the test, I'm not sure if I'll take it or not.
車の免許は持っているものの、ほとんど運転したことがありません。
Kurumanomenkyo wa motte iru mono no, hotondo unten shita koto ga arimasen.
Although I have my driver's license, I have rarely ever driven.
